THE CONTEST(for elementary schools)

Students can compete and exchange ideas with others their own age by participating in the Wanted: eco-friendly ideas for your city contest. Submit your proposals for ecologically efficient solutions to help support our planet.

Get creative! The town or city where you live, as well as your neighborhood and school, need your help. You don’t think so? Just walk around and look at where you live with an eye on energy. Identify waste, analyze energy consumption, and propose solutions for efficient energy use. When preparing your entry, let your imagination run wild: want to use pen and paper? Fine! Computer? Ditto! Or maybe wood, styrofoam, or fabric. In other words,, write, draw, take photos, make movies, build!

You have until May 29, 2009 to enter the contest. Remember this date!

A committee of energy experts will select the winners. Decisions will be based on relevance to the theme, creativity, coherence, and feasibility.

The contest is open to all types of entries, created via any medium. The projects and the entry form must be sent to the PlayEnergy Coordination Center listed in your local materials, by no later than May 29, 2009.
